After over five years since the last site was produced, London based architectural practice Child Graddon Lewis thought it was about time we looked at redesigning it.   This time the site using s bespoke content managed system, allowing the practice much more control of the site.

Looking closely at their library of images it became apparent that although beautify shot there was little or no people in the photos. On doing further research I learnt that this was a common and historic norm within architectural photography.

To address this issue I went about filming a number of CGL designed buildings, in use. The footage then provided the backdrop to a number of key areas within the site including the homepage. The ‘live’ video footage juxtaposes with the more polished photographs of the their work. The footage would also be used in later presentations and research work.

The CMS suite is built in aspx/.net by Perception Technology. The site uses a tight grid structured navigational system mirroring the practices modernist credentials. All live text is set in Verdana and main titles are set in Eric Gill's modernist classic font Gill Sans.
